JIMMY KATZ: Ornette Coleman (fine-art print)
$1,000.00 – $4,500.00
Jimmy Katz has been photographing the who’s who of jazz for the last 30 years. Here, the great saxophonist and composer Ornette Coleman. Coleman was a pioneer of free jazz – he actually coined the term with his 1960 album Free Jazz: A Collective Improvisation. Although he started in bebop, he soon favored and championed an avant-garde approach to music. His performances profoundly influenced jazz for decades to come.
